Keve awards for young entrepreneurs

The7th annual ‘Young Entrepreneurship Awards’, organised by Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) with support from the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry and Hellenic Bank, celebrated young Cypriot entrepreneurs for their impact on the country’s economic progress.

Keve noted that the awards, now an “annual institution,” seek to inspire and recognise young entrepreneurs, adding that “the awardees are examples for youth to follow and worthy ambassadors of entrepreneurship for our country.”

Speaking on behalf of House Speaker Annita Demetriou, Disy deputy Savia Orphanidou highlighted the “crucial role that youth entrepreneurship plays in the development and economic progress of our country,” describing the success of Cypriot youth as a “source of pride for Cyprus.”

Keve president Stavros Stavrou emphasised that “the future belongs to the new generation,” and said it is a collective responsibility “to prepare them and give them all the skills they will need to progress.”

He urged for “changes that modern times require,” which he said would enable young entrepreneurs “to actively contribute to the prosperity of the country and its people.”

Stavrou added that Keve promotes youth entrepreneurship through several initiatives, encouraging young scientists to enter the business sphere.

Meanwhile, Andreas Assiotis, Head of Retail Banking at Hellenic Bank, affirmed the bank’s commitment to youth, saying, “Hellenic Bank stands by young people who dare, inspire and claim the future.”

He noted, “Hellenic Bank is changing, turning the page and growing every day.

Our goal is to become more outward-looking, to serve you with new, dynamic solutions that meet your needs.”

The bank highlighted its “long support” for the business community and its backing of events that “encourage, highlight and reward their efforts to cope and grow.”
