This Saturday, October 12, the Strongman Champions League Cyprus returns to Limassol Old Port at 4 pm, where titans of strength will go head-to-head in one of the most gruelling competitions on the planet. And the best part? It’s free to attend!
Hosted once again by Cyprus’ very own strongman sensation, Ilya Khazov – known as the ‘Lion of Limassol’ – this event promises jaw-dropping feats of power, endurance, and raw determination.
“We have some of the best athletes in the world competing this year,” Ilya reveals. “These men are ready to push themselves beyond their limits. If you thought last year was intense, this one will blow you away.”
The event, now in its second year, is becoming a highlight of Cyprus’ sporting calendar. Spectators will witness world-class strongmen from across the globe take on iconic challenges like the bus pull, stone loading, and sandbag medley.
Athletes including Latvia’s Aivars Smaukstelis, a two-time SCL World Champion, and England’s Kane Francis, fresh from his win as England’s Strongest Man, are just some of the elite competitors making their way to the island for this showdown.

With athletes from as far afield as the United States, Italy, and Spain, the competition will see participants pull buses, hoist 200kg stones, and carry sandbags weighing as much as a double fridge in a dramatic display of strength and stamina.
