T + T – Normal size

The Israeli army announced early today that a missile launched from Yemen fell in an open area in the center of the Hebrew state, stressing that this did not lead to any casualties.

The army said in a statement: “Following up on the warnings a short while ago in the central region of the country, we are talking about a surface-to-surface missile being launched from the east that fell in an open area without causing any injuries.”

He indicated, in a second statement issued at around 7:00 a.m. (04:00 GMT), that “the missile was launched from Yemen,” explaining that “the explosions heard in the last minutes were the result of interception missiles.”

“The outcome of the interception is still under review,” he said. No party has yet claimed responsibility for launching the missile.

Following the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, the Houthis in Yemen repeatedly announced the launch of missiles and drones towards the Hebrew state.
