Police investigating suspected carjackings have charged two men.
The pair were arrested by officers following reports that two victims were allegedly attacked and their cars stolen in separate incidents near Dartford.
On the evening of September 4, a motorist who had stopped briefly at Dartford Heath is said to have been set upon by a group of men wearing face masks, who smashed his car window and assaulted him before stealing his vehicle.
The second incident took place a few days later, on September 8, when another man was allegedly assaulted by men wearing face coverings at Rochester Way.
His car was taken, and a bank card that had been in the vehicle was later allegedly used to make a fraudulent purchase in an Orpington shop.
Detectives investigating the incidents arrested two suspects on Thursday, and yesterday Lewis Turner, of Longbury Drive in Orpington, was charged with robbery and fraud, while Billy Scamp, of Eridge Green Close in Orpington, was charged with two robberies.
Mr Lewis, 32, and Mr Scamp, 18, were both remanded in custody and were due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
A third suspect, Thomas Ripley, of Star Lane in Orpington, was previously arrested in connection with the incidents and was charged with two robberies and an attempted burglary.
The 28-year-old remains remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on October 11.
