From bratwurst to beer: Cyprus gears up for Oktoberfest fun

From bratwurst to beer: Cyprus gears up for Oktoberfest fun

With the arrival of October, Cyprus is ready to welcome beer-filled events with German sausages and pints of beer as Oktoberfest celebrations are about to take over the island. Several local venues, from breweries to restaurants and hotels, are hosting Oktoberfest festivities with plenty of German-themed fun and music.

Coming up first is a live performance at John’s Restaurant in Trimiklini by the Bierstein Blasmusik, an authentic nine-piece German-style Oompah Band. Musicians playing the clarinet, the saxophone, the trumpet, the trombone, the tuba, the accordion, the euphonium and the drums will bring typical traditional Bavarian-style Oktoberfest music to dinners, this Friday at 8pm.

A two-day celebration will follow on Saturday and Sunday in Maroni village as Retreat & Club Edition Finesse in collaboration with German products Schmackofatz Delicatessen Zypern join forces to host an Oktoberfest festival that will be abundant in beer and sausages.

Oktoberfest celebrations will take place at the City of Dreams Mediterranean as well on October 18, 19 and 20. Bavarian culture will be featured all around the Anaïs Lawn where the festival will happen where visitors will enjoy a wide selection of finely brewed beers, German delicacies and live music by the Die Kirchdorfer band playing national and international pop, rock, and German party tunes. Running from 7pm to 11.30pm, the food selection will include German-style pretzels, pork schnitzel and of course, sausages. Prost!
