The American League Wild Card Series concluded yesterday with the Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers both sweeping their best-of-three series against the Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros, respectively, to head to the American League Division Series. The San Diego Padres also defeated the Atlanta Braves in two games in the National League Wild Card series. The New York Mets, who have played eight games in the last seven days, will get no rest today; they’ll play the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 3 of their series today.
