Paphos child hospitalised after being run over

A six-year-old child from Paphos was hospitalised on Wednesday after being run over in the town.

The boy was reportedly run over on Athens avenue, which connects the former district officer’s residence and the Archbishop Makarios III statue with the Stelios Kyriakides stadium.

The incident took place at around 3.30pm, and the boy was taken by ambulance to the Paphos general hospital.

He was initially taken to the accident and emergency department and was on Wednesday evening undergoing a series of tests. The police said he was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
