63rd Wine Festival promises to be a merry event

Limassol mayor Yiannis Armeftis has called on everyone to visit the 63rd Wine Festival in Limassol for an unforgettable experience, to watch tradition in action and savour the plentiful flavours of Cyprus, including a continuous flow of different wines.

This year, the Wine Festival, running from September 28 to October 6, will offer music and dancing, theatrical and other shows, entertainment for young and old and Cyprus food cooking non-stop.

The Wine Festival, which first opened in 1961, features the major and smaller winemakers, which will be offering wine tasting for all visitors throughout the whole event.

Furthermore, this year marks the 80th anniversary of commandaria winning the La Bataille des Vins and one thousand numbered bottles will be produced.

Events in the framework of the Wine Festival will also be held in the villages of Lofou and Monagri, on September 29 and October 6 respectively.

This year’s Wine Festival aspires to be zero waste, in an effort to reduce the enviromental footprint of the event and support the municipality’s goals for climate neutrality by the year 2030.

Buses to the festival will be running free of charge from Nicosia, Larnaca, Paphos and Ayia Napa.
