3,500 of the world’s most iconic brands investing in AI solutions are set to descend on Dubai World Trade Centre from October 14-18 for GITEX Global 2024, the world’s largest technology and startup event.

The highly anticipated exhibition and conference brings together the world’s largest technology community, from experts, founders, investors, to government leaders and senior executives, to showcase leading AI technologies, discuss ways to combine efforts, and launch key collaborations to drive future progress in the sector.

The global surge in AI investments, driven by growing demand for emerging digital industries, from digital health and future finance to cybersecurity and public services, has sparked a race among companies to secure expertise and specialists, maintain the pace of continuous technological innovation, and secure a prominent position at the forefront of companies adopting AI.

Goldman Sachs research predicted that global investment in artificial intelligence would reach $200 billion by 2025, while Bloomberg reports that the market value of generative artificial intelligence alone could reach $1.3 trillion by 2032.

This growth is gaining widespread support and interest among global leaders, as AI solutions are increasingly seen as a vital tool to drive improved productivity and higher levels of growth. Speaking on the GITEX Tech Waves podcast recently, Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Abu Dhabi-based Presight AI, said:

We are currently witnessing companies relying on artificial intelligence, which is developing rapidly, and in five or ten years, it will become smarter, and then it will have a higher level of efficiency, and will ensure better ways to answer difficult and complex questions. In turn, this aims to improve society and the world in which we live.

Having outpaced many global markets, the UAE’s response, which has witnessed increasing success as a global destination for the AI industry, has been based on a strong, long-term government agenda, aiming to harness the full potential of AI, to empower individuals, communities and organizations.

In line with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and its vision to become a global leader in AI by 2031, the UAE has invested in integrating AI into public services, energy, tourism and education.

In Dubai, the leadership has demonstrated a deep commitment to making the emirate the fastest, most resilient and future-ready city in the world by launching the Dubai Annual Plan to Accelerate the Adoption of AI Uses and Applications. This strategic plan aims to accelerate the adoption of AI applications and consider achieving the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 by adding AED 100 billion ($27.2 billion) annually to the emirate’s economy and boosting productivity by 50% through the adoption of digital solutions.

As the world’s largest technology and startup event, GITEX GLOBAL 2024 is strongly aligned with the UAE’s AI-driven economy, with Dubai the fastest growing international hub for AI experts, leaders, academics and prominent voices in the industry.

The main event features the most powerful tech giants, who are driving the AI dynamics globally, such as Adobe, Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Builder AI, Dell, G42, Google, HPE, IBM, Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Oracle, and many others.

Leading companies and institutions in the Middle East, working on developing artificial intelligence, and showcasing the region’s homegrown technology to the world, such as Presight, Etisalat, More, Technology Innovation Institute, and Khazna, will also showcase their products and innovations at the exhibition.
