Seat capacity on scheduled flights between the UAE and India increased to 2.177 million seats during September, compared to 2 million seats during the same period last year, according to data from OAG, an international provider of airport and airline data.

The corporation stated that air carriers added more than 177,000 seats on scheduled flights between the UAE and India during September compared to September last year, with the “UAE-India” route coming in ninth place globally in terms of the most active airline routes between countries.

Data from the international organization revealed that the Mumbai-Dubai route came in fifth place in terms of the most active airlines in the region, recording more than 234,000 seats on scheduled flights during the current month, while the Delhi-Dubai route came in seventh place in terms of the most active airlines in the region, recording more than 199,000 seats on international flights on this route.

The UAE national carriers alone operate more than 2,200 flights per month between UAE and Indian airports, which indicates the size of the demand for travel between the two countries. India is considered one of the most important markets for visitors to the UAE, and is at the forefront of tourism markets for Dubai.

Economic cooperation between the UAE and India is witnessing continuous momentum in the fields and activities of the circular economy, tourism, aviation, entrepreneurship, small and medium enterprises, renewable energy, technology, digital transformation, and transportation. Total non-oil trade between the two countries increased by 3.94% from $51.4 billion in 2022 to $53.4 billion in 2023.
