GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – Greensboro police began a homicide investigation after a person was found dead on Monday, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release.
Around 12:25 p.m., Greensboro police responded to Yanceyville Street near King Fisher Trail when they were told about a dead person.
Officers found a dead male off the side of the road down an embankment. He had an injury consistent with a gunshot wound, police say.
Police are investigating his death as a homicide. Investigators have not been able to determine his identity.
This is the city’s 40th homicide of 2024.
